Winona LaDuke gives presentations all around the country. Shane Plummer invited Winona to speak at the University of Minnesota Law School along with environmental attorney Paul Blackburn. Winona and Paul focused their presentation on the Enbridge corporation’s proposed Sandpiper pipeline. Blackburn explained the joys and difficulties of environmental law telling students that choosing environmental law is a rewarding career choice but they will not make very much money compared to other areas of legal practice. Former law student, Tara Houska, who is practicing law in Washington D.C was in the audience. Tara is a co-founder of ‘Not Your Mascots’ and was in Minneapolis to protest the Washington Redskins vs. Minnesota Vikings game suggesting that the Washington Redskins ‘change the name’.
